based FrontPoint Systems has entered into a technical collaboration
with Phybiz Inc of the USA to work jointly on Health Insurance
Patients Assurance (HIPA)) compliant software. Speaking
to The New Indian Express, Sanjay Shroff, CEO, Front Point
Systems said, "Our collaboration has resulted in our bagging
a $200,000 contract already." The HIPA Act is expected to
come into effect by 2003 in the United States. It requires
medical institutions and physicians to move to a "standard
software system." Sanjay Shroff said, "FrontPoint is actively
trying to obtain Federal contracts for HIPA compliant software."
He added that the company was also interested in developing
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for the
telecom sector. " We plan to target overseas markets in
this regard," he said....

Systems has initiated work with an Italian company. Mapi
Controls, which will "market an ASP model for the electrical
goods market." Mapi Controls, a wholesaler, plans to market
the model such that 60 retailers in Italy are targeted initially,
said Shroff. "After that, there are plans for expansion
into the German and French markets, " he added. The company's
plans to develop and market customized solutions for Small
and Medium Enterprises (SME's) have failed to create a stir
in the market. Shroff said, "Many enterprises have evinced
interest but the cost factor has kept them away." The average
selling price of these solutions is around Rs.10 lakh, added
Shroff. FrontPoint Systems has developed the website for
Southern Railway as also a health and medicine portal, medindia.....
